History
The founders of <PreviousNext>, Mr Kim Pepper and Owen Lansbury, have worked in web development since the early 1990s in complementary roles – Kim as a developer and Owen as a designer and usability expert. <PreviousNext> is a natural extension of these roles, allowing both founders to leverage their expertise whilst being supported by a network of top-tier developers and designers.
Kim Pepper – Technical Director
Graduating with a Bachelor of Computer Science and Psychology in the early 1990s, Kim’s skillset is grounded in hard-core technical development, twinned with a solid understanding of human-computer interaction.
His early career saw him working as a web developer for Australia’s leading firm of the period, Spike Networks, followed by a role as Technical Director for global web agency Oven Digital in the early 2000s. His polymath programming skills then led him towards Tech Lead roles developing mission-critical Java applications with medical technology company iSoft, and developing high scalability systems architecture for contextual ad serving company Mooter Media.
Kim’s skillset covers the gamut of web technologies, programming in Java, Ruby on Rails, PHP, and ASP.NET, coding website interfaces in HTML/CSS, Javascript and AJAX, and developing high-throughput, scalable system achitectures using cloud computing services and virtual hosting environments.

Owen Lansbury – User Experience Director
An international award-winning designer and usability expert, Owen was one of the first digital media graduates from the UNSW College of Fine Arts in the early 1990s.
This led to a string of roles leading web design teams for prominent firms in Australia and the USA throughout the 1990s. Returning to Australia in the early 2000s, he was headhunted to lead the user experience team at the IBM Innovation Centre in Sydney, comprising usability experts, information architects, graphic designers and content developers. He followed this role by becoming Creative Director at the prominent web development firm One Digital, where he built and led an award-winning cross-discipline creative team on myriad projects for Australia’s biggest brands until 2005.
Since 2005 until co-founding <PreviousNext>, Owen has worked independently as a web consultant, developing design and digital branding strategies, information architecture and graphic design for major organisations including Yahoo!7, News Digital Media, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Telstra/BigPond, Fox Sports, Quiksilver, Fremantle Media and the Commonwealth Government.
