John Albin Wilkins joins PreviousNext

We are excited to announce that John Albin Wilkins will be joining PreviousNext as a Front-End Developer.

Prominent in the Drupal community since 2004, John (aka JohnAlbin) is one of the of the world’s leading Drupal contributors to Drupal 7 and leads the Drupal 8 Mobile Initiative. He is also highly regarded for his contributions to Drupal via Zen Grids and his role as maintainer of several well-used contrib projects including the Zen base theme, Menu Block, Menu Position and Fences. John also co-authored the popular “Drupal 7 Module Development” book from Packt Publishing.

A Computer Science graduate who’s worked in web development since 1994, John’s front-end credentials were cemented around pushing CSS standards and development practices in the early 2000s. Well known for openly offering his expertise, John has developed a reputation as a prolific sharer of free code and has presented around the world, speaking on topics ranging from CSS, information architecture, Sass/Compass, mobile, and responsive design.

Prior to joining PreviousNext, John has spent the past seven years working with leading US Drupal firms Lullabot and Palantir, working with high profile clients including MSNBC, Public Radio International, the University of Chicago Law School and The King Center.

John lives with his family in Taiwan and will work remotely with PreviousNext’s Australian team in the same time zone. Of this move John says, “I’ve been really impressed with everyone I’ve met at PreviousNext during the past few years at Drupal community events. They’ve built an amazing team, and I know that I’ll have have ample opportunities for collaboration and growth around interesting technology”.

A smart and creative communicator, Albin’s expertise will see him play a key role in providing specialist Drupal services to PreviousNext’s clients, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the team. He’ll also join the PreviousNext team making the journey to present at the DrupalCon Austin in June.
