NSW ANZAC Memorial: 100 years of ANZAC

Coinciding with the Centenary of ANZAC, the Trustees of the ANZAC Memorial brought us on board to design and redevelop the Memorial’s website on Drupal.

Context

Paramount to the success of this project was the ANZAC Memorial's improved online presence.

This would be achieved by developing an appealing and engaging design to replace their existing site.

The new website would be the Memorial’s online connection to the general public. It would encourage interaction and enhance the Memorial's profile and reputation as the central focus for community remembrance and commemoration.

The solutions

With the definition phase complete, early phases of the project focused on information architecture and user interface design.

We delivered a responsive, image-centric design and provided a framework for the Memorial to first improve their online presence, then gradually build content and functionality over time.

The Memorial now has the potential to showcase its historical objects online, making them available to those who are unable to visit.

Additionally, the new site enables Memorial staff to update content quickly and easily, so they can showcase news and events as they happen.

The results

Our team completely overhauled the existing site and moved it to Drupal, completing the build in late 2014. The site launched in February 2015.

The results provided the ANZAC Memorial with a stable, scalable, flexible and easily maintainable platform, showcasing what the Memorial has to offer now and in the future.

Future project phases are planned to incorporate user-generated content and provide interactive, engaging resources around the Memorial, its collections, and programs.
