Taking Taronga Zoo Mobile
In late 2013, we helped Taronga Conservation Society Australia move their existing website from Drupal 6 to 7, working on the Drupal development and theming of the new site.
Not-for-profit platforms carry a weight most commercial websites don't. For many organisations, the website isn't just a communications channel. It's the infrastructure that donations, campaigns and supporter relationships run through. When it goes down or falls behind, the cost isn't abstract.
That’s why we build and maintain Drupal platforms for organisations who can't afford for that infrastructure to be fragile.
Many not-for-profits come to us with similar challenges. A platform that's grown organically over several years. An internal team stretched thin. A platform running well below what Drupal is actually capable of. That's exactly the situation we're built to step into.
We review your existing codebase, security posture and architecture before recommending anything. So you know exactly what you're dealing with, not just what we think you should buy.
We help you sequence fixes by complexity and by how much they affect platform stability, so budget goes where it matters most.
Drupal evolves quickly, and it's common for platforms to fall behind its current capabilities. We map the gap between where your platform is and where it could be.
Whether it's your internal team or an external agency, we provide guidance on Drupal best practices. So quality doesn't depend on who's committing code that week.
Not-for-profit platforms need to serve multi-year strategies, not just the current campaign. We build roadmaps that hold up over that horizon.

In late 2013, we helped Taronga Conservation Society Australia move their existing website from Drupal 6 to 7, working on the Drupal development and theming of the new site.

After designing and developing the Australian Conservation Foundation’s main website on Drupal, we were asked to theme and develop their sub-site, action.org.au.
Larger not-for-profits often already have their own internal development or digital team. We're used to working alongside one, not replacing it.
Our delivery manager works directly with your product owner, so there's a single, shared view of what's being delivered and when.
Our developers work as an extension of your team, bringing Drupal-specific expertise and capacity where you need it most.
We run sprint planning and retrospectives as one integrated team, not two teams reporting past each other.
Complex not-for-profit platforms often involve more than one specialist agency at a time – a CRM partner, a creative agency, a platform team. We're comfortable being one voice in that mix, not the only one.
Clearly defined responsibilities, so nothing falls through the cracks between agencies.
Regular cross-agency meetings, typically facilitated by the client, to keep everyone aligned.
A shared definition of project success across every agency involved, not just our own deliverables.
Not-for-profit platforms rarely stay static, and neither does our involvement. Longer-term, we typically support:
Australian Conservation Foundation: We built action.org.au, ACF's campaign platform, integrating supporter and donation tooling with Drupal to manage content and user experience. Following this, almost 10,000 supporters joined the platform and took close to 15,000 campaign actions.
