Drupal Web Development

Realise the potential of your digital platforms.

Discover the power of open source

We offer top tier Drupal web development for Enterprise, Not-for-Profit, Government and Education clients.

What is Drupal?

Drupal is a leading open-source content management system backed by an active global community. As a result, it’s constantly growing, improving, and driving innovation.

It’s an ideal platform for developing sophisticated, flexible, and powerful websites, social media networks, and applications.

Fully featured, it can be enhanced infinitely by installing contributed modules or through customised development.

Organisations can now also choose between Drupal Core and Drupal CMS

Drupal Core is better suited to advanced users and developers, supporting more complex platform demands. By contrast, Drupal CMS provides SME marketers, content creators, and site builders with enterprise-grade quality in an easy-to-use CMS.

Key Drupal features:

  • Premium security as standard
  • AI-ready
  • Advanced caching API
  • Easily customised
  • In-built search
  • Advanced front-end tech
  • Cutting-edge tools
  • Intuitive editorial interface
  • Easy third-party integrations
  • Accessibility and multilingual functionality

For digital experiences without limits, no vendor lock-in, and low-code/no-code options available, Drupal is your best choice.

Building digital platforms with impact

When you choose us to develop your Drupal website, you’ll receive 100% transparency on your project. You’ll work directly with our development team to ensure close collaboration. That means you’ll never be held at arm's length from what’s happening behind the scenes.

Each development project is guided by a dedicated Agile Delivery Manager. They keep everything on track, on target and on budget, working closely with you and your team.

Our UX and Content experts ensure users are considered at every step.

And our Drupal hosting services provide a secure and reliable experience. All data is held on Australian-based servers – meeting strict government requirements.

Throughout a project, we may use AI and internal frameworks to accelerate the delivery of repeatable tasks. We pass these efficiency gains on to you, the client. This is always under human oversight by a senior developer and in accordance with government AI guidelines.

For a website that’s secure, flexible, and maintainable.

Our team ensures that innovative and technical solutions are chosen because they solve your users’ problems and meet your business’s needs. Not because they’re new or flashy. The result is a digital platform that refuses the one-size-fits-all approach.

“Their expertise and meticulous approach were evident throughout the project. Leveraging their extensive experience with Drupal and robust development techniques, they ensured the solution was built right the first time.” – Joseph Watson, Director of Public Affairs, Catholic Schools NSW

The Mentally Healthy Workplaces Platform

The award-winning Mentally Healthy Workplaces platform was our inaugural Drupal 10 project. The result is a site that provides a single credible avenue to contributed and curated information, resources and learning facilitated by lightning-fast natural language search. It enables and informs, encouraging organisations and individuals to create a mentally healthy workplace utilising trusted information.

Why choose us to develop your next website?

We’ve worked with Drupal for 17 years, and our senior-only team has an average of 16 years of experience with Drupal. Clocking up around 10 years of tenure each at PreviousNext, our team averages five times that of the industry. This continuity of personnel allows us to deliver consistency, efficiency, and tried-and-tested deep institutional knowledge.

All of our developers are active, verifiable code contributors to the Drupal open source project. So not only do we work in and know Drupal, we’ve helped to make it the robust platform it is today. That’s a level of product knowledge that only comes from putting time and effort into contributing to the community.

We’re proud to be one of Australia’s most experienced Drupal services firms. We were Australia's first Platinum Drupal Certified Partner and are now its first and only Top-Tier Partner. Our team includes leading global Drupal core contributors, subsystem and module maintainers, and members of the Drupal Security Team.

“PreviousNext have been an exceptional partner for Bond University in every way. They did an outstanding job with our website, were a delight to work with and we very much look forward to working with them on the evolution of our website moving forward.” – Shannon Tricklebank, Director, Marketing and Brand, Bond University

Frequently asked questions

What types of Drupal websites do you build?

We build large-scale, complex platforms for clients with large amounts of content and stringent security requirements. We work in both traditional and Headless Drupal.

Do you only work in Drupal?

We primarily work with open source technologies, including Drupal and GovCMS, as well as Headless, React and Go.

What’s the difference between Drupal and WordPress for enterprise?

WordPress suits content-led marketing sites. Drupal, on the other hand, is built for complex, secure, high-traffic platforms used by government, higher education and large enterprises. Drupal has stronger security, granular access controls and structured content built in. This makes it the more robust choice for organisations with strict governance or long-term scale requirements.

Will Drupal integrate with our existing systems?

Yes. Drupal is designed for integration. It has robust APIs and a mature ecosystem of modules for connecting to CRMs, identity providers, payment gateways, data warehouses and bespoke internal systems.

Our team has delivered integrations across SAP, Salesforce, single sign-on providers and government identity platforms. This means we have the experience to architect the right approach for your stack.
