Context

The Australian Conservation Foundation required a site that would empower people to rally around the cause of conservation, bringing people together in taking the necessary steps toward the permanent protection of some of Australia’s most special places.

The solution

As a campaign-driven site, one of the main features of this build was the integration of the BSD toolset, an effective platform for organising, engaging, and activating supporters online.

This platform combined a customisable and searchable member database with powerful mass email, reliable donation processing, social networking, event management, personal fundraising, analytics and more.

The introduction of the events button and search features also helped users to find, host and manage events. This functionality enabled them to further take their campaigning offline and provided an easy way to engage more people in environmental issues that require urgent action.

Outcome

Using the BSD toolset to manage forms and Drupal to manage content, workflow and the user interface, over 10,000 people joined ACF on action.org, taking almost 15,000 actions.

Politicians and the media took notice as the Australian Conservation Foundation took the initial step in scaling their reach to every corner of Australia through events hosted by volunteers nationally.

After the launch of action.org, we continued our engagement with the Australian Conservation Foundation through a program of ongoing support.
