Context

Launched in July 2012, mindhealthconnect was a national e-mental health website operated by Healthdirect Australia, on behalf of the Australian Federal Government.

The website provided a range of online pathways and tools, including a guided search, to assist users (both consumers and health professionals) in finding relevant mental health and wellbeing information, online programs, services, news, helplines and additional resources.

The solutions

With tight deadlines and requirements, and a number of stakeholders involved in the process, we relied heavily on the Drupal platform for its flexibility.

The project involved the delivery of a fully responsive website, a redesign and the addition of a wide range of new functionality and enhancements including guided search and other tools.

The results

We worked closely with the Healthdirect Australia project team to deliver this highly successful project on time.

The new website provided a great resource for the Australian public and enabled the future growth of a broader range of mental health and wellbeing content, tools, and other services.

Pulling together resources from Australia’s leading health-focused organisations, mindhealthconnect.org.au provided a first step in finding trusted online mental health and wellbeing resources, so people could help themselves or someone they cared about connect with the right information. Partners included beyondblue, Black Dog Institute, ReachOut.com, MindSpot, Lifeline and many more.

Mind Health Connect is now known as Medicare Mental Health.
