Cirrus Media: Medical Observer

In early 2015, we worked with Cirrus Media's healthcare division to redevelop their Medical Observer website on a Drupal platform.

Context

Targeted at Australian doctors, the Medical Observer website aimed to provide the most up-to-date medical news, social networking tools, and a centralised hub where registered health practitioners could share and connect with their peers.

To build and sustain such a connected online community, Cirrus Media wanted to move the existing Medical Observer site onto the Drupal platform. The aim was to increase flexibility and content management functionality for a responsive site that would offer a clear, simple registration process for new users and enable easier access across multiple devices.

The solutions

By adopting Agile development processes, we encouraged stakeholders to maintain daily contact with our development team. Engaging closely throughout the project ensured release schedules and budget targets were met.

We migrated the existing site content and all registered users onto the Drupal platform.

The new Medical Observer website now boasts greater functionality and networking capability. It offers advanced search technology, social media integration and content delivered in a news-style format tailored to suit the interests and reading habits of individual users.

The results

With a completely fresh look and feel, the new Medical Observer site was launched successfully in July 2015.

It stands as a fitting example of a successful agile, style guide-driven development project.

We continued to work closely with the Cirrus Media team during their transition to Drupal, with the aim of collaborating on future projects.
